Kenya, the pride of Africa.  For many years Kenya saw nothing but peace and only recently has there been political disturbance that thankfully ended as quickly as it started.  Whether you happen to be in the country’s capital, Nairobi, one of it’s vibrant towns like Nakuru or basking in a coastal bliss such as Mombasa, you’ll get the feeling that you’ve really found a jewel.  With a culture proud of it’s heritage and love of nature you’ll find the landscapes and plant life thriving in this exotic blend of most of the luxuries of the west and the grass root experience of a strong African country.  There are so many ways to enjoy Kenya cheap and we will attempt to help you do just that.

Well, what can I say.  Nairobi is a city with everything you could want from a western city - but in Africa.  From Pizza Garden in Westlands where live African music blends with a tasty mix of Kenyan and western cuisine to Village Market in Gigiri where the worlds eateries appear to meet amidst a fresh and sociable outdoor culture, where you can find some of the worlds top designer fashion as well as Kenyan art  on offer, you’ll find people from all over the world.  Particularly America, Germany and the UK.  But thankfully, you are not drowned in tourists and you can just as easily find places where you will be the only foreigner, if that’s what you like.  I must say, regardless of where you go, you are welcomed with open arms and the usual warm welcome of “Jambo” and “Karibu”  - “Hello” and “Welcome” respectively.

The Pizza is very good at Pizza Garden but so is the local Nyama Choma (Barbecued Meat).  Village Market has Chinese, Indian, Kenyan, German and Italian foods to mention a few.  Lots of variety of beer especially Tusker Beer, the home grown brew - lovely when ice cold - trust me!

Carnivore is also a highly praised restaurant offering exotic and non exotic foods.  It’s big and it’s friendly but I only ever went to the nightclub there which has different music genres on different nights.  I’m not that into to Rock, so I went there on a Rock night!  I didn’t know!!

I also like Florida’s in down town Nairobi within walking distance of the Grand Regency Hotel and boasting a spectacular live show around 12 am on the weekends.  Not too sure about the weekdays.  I think the Kenyan wildlife found its way into this club some how as they do in their sister club in Mombasa.  I’ll say no more - just go see it for yourself! (the wildlife is gorgeous mostly though!)

MOMBASA

Just so you know I’m not a fake - I’ve been there.  Allow me to introduce myself - even if I do look hypnotized by the cold cold Tusker Beer!  My name is Jay and this was in Village Market, Nairobi.  The sun was scorching, the beer was ICE!  I kept the pictures big because I wanted you all to get the real feel and pics get all weird when you shrink them.  Courtesy of Kenya Cheap dot com.

Meet my wife, Lisa.  This was a month later.  Notice the only two things the last picture and this one have in common - me and the beer!!
